The fall air is just starting to set in and all of the spookiness that comes with Halloween has just begun. If you’re like me and can’t wait to get started on all things Halloween, I have the perfect thing for you! ValleySCARE at Valleyfair opened this past weekend and doesn’t disappoint! I have to tell you all about it! There are two parts, one for the delightful and one for the frightful – you can guess which is my favorite. For the delightful… The Great Pumpkin Fest
During the day, kids and those who like the not-so-scary Halloween liveliness can enjoy themed rides, live entertainment and great fall activities! There is so much you can do.

Things like; visiting the storytelling witch, seeing the great pumpkin parade, strolling down Trick or Treat street, Charlie Brown’s Pirate Adventure, traversing Peppermint Patty’s Haybale Maze, getting creative in Sally’s Craft Corner, Pig Pen’s People Washer, Sally’s Spooky Sing-a-long, watch It’s The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown with a continual screening of the Halloween classic in the Galaxy Theater!

For the frightful… The Halloween HAUNT
As the night draws in, get your thrills and chills through the scary mazes, creepy walkways and haunted attractions while more than 300 creatures and monsters lurk in the shadows.

Six mazes: Berserkers Unleashed where ancient Vikings spirits descend, Dark Harvest takes you through the cornfield of burlap, pitchforks and sinister scarecrows , Human(e) Habitat will have you shrieking over mad science experiments (or at least I was), Mr. Cleaver’s Bloodshed will have you pushing your way through the meat packing plant, The Chateau is a Renaissance castle where vampires live (can the set creators just come to my house and decorate, seriously) and Zombie High is the scary prom you always wanted to go to.

Three scare zones: The fog-filled Blood Creek Cemetery where mourners roam, Carnevil: Ringmaster’s Revenge where the blood-soaked clowns and sideshow freaks congregate, and amongst the tumbleweeds is Trails End where the cowboys haunt.
Five shows: Awakening at the Midway Stage, EDM dance club with DJ Tek, Demon Corps, Hacks Live and you can’t miss the Sinister Circus, a death-defying spectacle worthy of viewing!  Some other fun stuff you should check out: Blood Suckers Brew Bar, Buffet and Event Lab, and the luminescent Pumpkin Promenade.

And if you are the type that can’t get enough gloom and doom, get the Skeleton Key experience that includes front of the line access to all six mazes and over 10 rides like Wild Thing and the  Northstar.

Open Saturdays and Sundays now through October.
