This past Thursday was the City Page’s 2016 Best of the Twin Cities soiree at the International Market Square (see my last post for one of the incredible staircase there). Music from Farewell MIllwaukee, LOTT and DJ Shannon Blowtorch flooded the atrium while we sipped on drinks from Insight Brewing, St. Croix Vineyards, and Vikre Distillery – a personal favorite of mine. With the list being in City Pages biggest issue of the year, there was plenty to indulge in like The Lone Grazer Creamery’s cheese curds, oysters from Barbette and Sea Salt Eatery, Cosmos at Loews’ cookies, samples from Sweet Science Ice Cream and others from Red Stag Supperclub, MAYA Cuisine, Kramarczuk’s, The Draft Horse and United Noodles. I basically set up camp at the Glam Doll Donuts table. Something I am still deciding if I should pride myself on. It wasn’t all about food though. Others like AMC Theaters, Elixery, Minnesota Awesome, European Wax (also favorites of mine) made the night quite a hit. I even took home an Andrew Zimmern’s Potlucky Kitchen from The Minnesota Lottery. I don’t think there is anything that could be considered more Minnesotan. Oh, and I can’t forget about the dancing mouse from Lupient. A portion of the proceeds went to benefit the Ronald McDonald House.
