Bill’s Gun Shop & Range

Is shooting a gun on your bucket list, or how about visiting an indoor gun range for the first time? If the answer is yes to either, you are not alone. Both were on my list and luckily Bill’s Gun Shop and Range made it possible! I went on Ladies Night, which is every Wednesday, and we all had a total blast with our instructor, Jolene. Without a doubt, I was the most anxious in my group. Jolene took the time to listen and understand my apprehensions. Incredibly knowledgeable and informative, she really created a safe and non-judgmental space where we could ask any question, no matter how big or small. She was patient and made the entire experience comfortable and educational. I don’t think that I would’ve been able to do it without her encouragement. I even mentioned my experience yesterday morning on the Wayne Eddie Affair on KYMN 95.1 FM!

Bill’s has a well-deserved list of accolades that includes 5 star ratings and Range of the Year from the National Shooting Sports Foundation. With locations in Robbinsdale (where I went), Circle Pines, Moorhead, Baxter, Hudson, WI, and Fargo, ND, you can purchase your own firearms from Bill’s large collection, have gunsmithing done or head into the indoor range, where you’ll find a whole host of different guns to choose from and even zombie targets, if you’re feeling adventurous. Maybe you are looking to become more confident around firearms, or perhaps you are an enthusiast that just wants a night out. Bill’s has classes from beginner to advanced. Led by certified firearms instructors, you can choose from topics like Basic Handgun Familiarization, Ladies Basic Handgun Familiarization, AR-15 Basics, Self-Defense Combat Class, MN Multi-State Carry, Advanced Handgun, Tactical Handgun, and seasonally, MN DNR Firearm Safety Course, to name a few.

It is also a great place to get to know veteran shooting professionals who can get you up to speed on current regulations and safety precautions. Every single person on staff was helpful, friendly, patient and not at all intimidating – which is vital to someone who has never been to a gun range. Each were passionate about their craft and really created a welcoming environment.  As a total rookie, I was surprised at how empowering it was! A big thanks to Bill’s for an incredible experience!

Pig Ate My Pizza

Pig Ate My Pizza

On Wednesday, a bunch of my nearest and dearest go together to cross Pig Ate My Pizza off the MNBucketList. With Rebecca on picture duty, we got to hang out in the crazy, kooky Robbinsdale pizza parlor. How do I even start?  What accolades doesn’t PAMP have? I mean, it landed on the Thrillist, made Vita.MN’s Best of List of 2014, ranked one of the best pizza places in the U.S. by Food and Wine and TIME magazine, and if that’s not enough, they got a big shout-out from a former New York restaurant critic. I am safe in saying that this place has hype.  On the suburban side of crazy with a little lumber sexual, carnivorous vibe, Pig Ate My Pizza actually lived up to exposure. From the deep dish brioche pizza that is hand tossed in the open air kitchen right in front of you, smoked at the table and served on wooden planks to the kitschy, Bierstein’s and pig painting covered walls, this place has mine and everyone at the tables vote. Side note: PAMP is owned by the people that brought you Travail Kitchen and Amusements.

Wuollet Bakery

WuolletIf you live in Minnesota, and you haven’t heard of Wuollet Bakery, then… you’re just like me. Seriously. I had no idea this existed and now that I do, oh, dangerous. Woullet is packed full of cupcakes, cakes, pies, donuts, pastries, muffins, coffee cake, crumb cake and breads. They also have a full coffee and espresso bar. For the love of Yeezy, that’s a lot. 😉 This location is off Lake Street in Wayzata, next to Lake Minnetonka, they are also Downtown, in Uptown, Edina, St Paul and Robbinsdale.
