On Wednesday, a bunch of my nearest and dearest go together to cross Pig Ate My Pizza off the MNBucketList. With Rebecca on picture duty, we got to hang out in the crazy, kooky Robbinsdale pizza parlor. How do I even start? What accolades doesn’t PAMP have? I mean, it landed on the Thrillist, made Vita.MN’s Best of List of 2014, ranked one of the best pizza places in the U.S. by Food and Wine and TIME magazine, and if that’s not enough, they got a big shout-out from a former New York restaurant critic. I am safe in saying that this place has hype. On the suburban side of crazy with a little lumber sexual, carnivorous vibe, Pig Ate My Pizza actually lived up to exposure. From the deep dish brioche pizza that is hand tossed in the open air kitchen right in front of you, smoked at the table and served on wooden planks to the kitschy, Bierstein’s and pig painting covered walls, this place has mine and everyone at the tables vote. Side note: PAMP is owned by the people that brought you Travail Kitchen and Amusements.
