The Brau Brothers Brewing Company is located in Marshall, a southwestern Minnesota town famous for being the headquarters to the Schwan Food Company and home to Southwest Minnesota State University. It only seems fitting with frozen food and college life that Marshall would need a brewery. And that’s exactly what it got with Brau Brothers who make it their personal mission to service and harvest locally. They have the largest hopyard in the upper Midwest and grow their own barley, making all of Brau Beer distinct to the region. Here are some of their numbers; ten fermenters, fifteen barrel brew system, six finishing tanks, a dozen tap lines, ten different in-house sodas served from a fire truck parked in the middle of the taproom, AND open seven days a week. Brau has become quite known for small batches, rural relationships and their house-smoked pastrami sandwiches made in their Gastropub-esque kitchen. If you’re in the area or plan on passing through, stop and get a flight of Bancreagie Peated Scotch Ale, Boojoos, Pumpkin Ale and Cherry Bean Coffee Stout.
