If you are in the Albert Lea area and looking for a great burger, keep an eye out for a tiny yellow building on the corner of East 8th Street and James Ave, just off SE Broadway Ave with a red neon sign that reads, “The ELBOW ROOM.”
Don’t let the small exterior fool you.
From the outside, you would never know that you can get one of the best burgers in all of Albert Lea.
Elbow Room has been under new ownership since 2018 after longtime owner Vic Nelson died. For those lifer patrons, the burgers are still cooked up the way Vic did it.
Burgers not your thing? Don’t sweat, they have a pretty extensive menu for such a small place.
Aside from the food, this place is everything you could want in a hometown restaurant; wood panel walls and bar, worn-in bucket seats, Formica tables, open-air classic grill, and of course, bottled beer and cans of pop. Ever stopped in?
