Gorman’s Restaurant in Lake Elmo has been around for more than 36 years. Ed and Kathy Gorman originally bought the (former) White Hat Restaurant in 1980, changing the name to its current moniker 20 years later. Gorman’s is brimming with historical photos and antiques. The walls are covered in historical pictures, dating back to the 1800s, framed in original barn windows from town. It is one of the most incredible private collections of Lake Elmo history there is. There is even a Deere & Mansur corn planter from the late 1800s in the dining room. Full of historic ambiance, the family-style restaurant specializes in homestyle food like burgers, sandwiches, and ice cream. They are so known for their ice cream that they even have a drive-thru and walk up windows so you can pop over on a hot day without missing a beat!
