Welcome Hat
Minnesota History Center
Tomorrow, January 5th, 5-8pm
Minnesotan newcomers invited to a one-of-a-kind Welcome Hat ceremony!
On the first Tuesday of each month, the Minnesota History Center hosts a series of free Welcome Hat ceremonies to jumpstart newcomer and returnee inclusion to the Saint Paul community through the gift of a warm faux-fur-lined hat and a showcase of the city’s resources! Already attended a Welcome Hat? Bring a friend to this one!
Organized by Saint Paul Hello, a partnership that celebrates and connects newcomers to the city of Saint Paul and the state of Minnesota, Welcome Hat ceremonies feature live local music (January will be live music from Al Church), a showcase of valuable community resources, grab a drink and sample some food from local restaurants and breweries (Summit Brewery this time!) , celebrity hat presenters, sport team mascots, Paul Bunyan and more!!
Welcome Hat events are free, family-friendly, and open to everyone; Newcomers and returnees to Saint Paul (who’ve made the move within the last year or so) are invited to register online at to receive their Welcome Hat.
To make sure you feel like an official member of the state but still know someone there, Rebecca and I will be there to come talk to, hang out by and laugh with. Learn about the Minnesota Bucket List, get your very own ‘25 Things To Do This January/February’ (remember the December list?), straight from the #MNBucketList and get more information about the @Minnstameet x @4Play event where you’ll also see us, coming up this Saturday!
