Winter SolsticeHappy Winter Solstice! Or longest day of the year! Or maybe you call it Yule and celebrate with a Midwinter Festival. It’s the day that marks the beginning of Winter in the Northern Hemisphere. No one does a more beautiful solstice in Minnesota than the American Swedish Institute. Tour the Turnblad Mansion, feast at Fika, explore the Enchanted Forest and be Swedish for a night (you don’t even have to be Scandanavian to enjoy it!). I grew up with an extraordinary amount or Nordic (Finland, Norway, Denmark, Sweden and Iceland) influence so this tradition is a must for me.
