If you haven’t been to Psycho Suzi’s Motor Lounge, I recommend adding it to your list.
Seated on the Mississippi riverfront, Psycho Suzi’s has been a Northeast Minneapolis staple since 2003.
The second-to-none institution is located in a 15,000-square-foot space that used to house Gabby’s.
Head over to the riverside, dog-friendly patio where you’ll find industrial river views from the waterfront decks.
With two levels and multiple theme bars, the Polynesian lounge makes no qualms about their bad-taste décor, tiki-inspired drink menu, or any of their other island-related devilry.
You’ll find the illuminated glow of the bar, beckoning those looking to mend broken dreams and increase their BAC levels.
Cozy up to one of the Tiki Cocktails.
Here are a few of my personal favorites: the Mai Tai with its amber rum, house-made orgeat, pineapple, Curacao, and a dark Jamaican rum float; the Beachcomber complete with strawberry, lychee, lime, and pineapple; Coconaut which is vanilla, coconut cream, allspice, and West Indies rum. Other rave-reviewed potions include the Evil Headhunter, Siren’s Call, One-eyed Willy, Crummy Rummy, and the Paralyzed Politician.
Don’t just come for the drinks! You can’t go wrong with the Nordeast cheese curds, or the “Lip Smackin'” dry rub wings though my personal favorite is the Northeast pizza. Enter, the garlic, goat, and herb. Covered with balsamic reduction, fresh goat cheese, melt-in-your-mouth garlic, perfectly gooey cheese on a crispy-yet-tender crust – I gush.
Have you ever been? Tell me, what is your favorite themed bar in Minnesota?
