My favorite time of year to eat ice cream is in winter. Call me crazy but there is nothing better than matching cold with flavor AND you don’t have to worry about it melting!
Enter, Love Creamery. Located off Superior Street in Duluth’s up-and-coming Lincoln Park area, you can find Love next to Corktown Deli and Brews and across the street from the OMC Smokehouse.
Like its neighbors, the adorable artisan shop not only has curb appeal but wins major points for indoor aesthetics.
A whimsical mural, a cascade of mermaid tiles, and a retro fireplace complete with comfortable chairs that you can melt (see what I did there? I know, terrible) into.
They opened in 2014, selling ice cream at farmer’s markets and private events. Finally moving to its current home, Love is Duluth’s first all-local, mostly organic ice cream shop.
The ice cream ingredients come from local dairy and honey, maple syrup and fruit they use is from local farmers.
My favorite part? The eclectic combinations of flavors. You’ll find dreamy concoctions like honey lavender, chamomile honeycomb, matcha with raspberries, salted licorice, sassy nanny goat cheese with brandied peaches, cardamom pepper and goat cheese with roasted cherry and strawberry basil.
If you are in the Duluth area, I highly recommend stopping by.
