Whenever my mom gives a recommendation, I go out of my way to indulge. She has an eye for finding diamonds. This time, she had me head to the Tipsy Chicken Kitchen and Cocktails and it did not disappoint!
Tucked away in a strip mall on the edge of Elk River, Tipsy has an old-farmhouse-meets-retro-rustic motif with a comfortable atmosphere.
They opened in December 2017 and have since become a go-to for family-friendly and casual dining.
Touting locally sourced ingredients, organic options, and sustainable practices, this sort of place is what you would expect to find in the heart of the Twin Cities.
Everything is made to order and made from scratch.
They serve chicken that is certified organic and certified humane, farm-style dishes, and impressive “green juice meets booze” cocktails, like fresh-made kale juice, and a fun take on a beet-a-rita, all of which are beautifully presented.
I am head over heels for their sweet pea stuffed homemade ravioli with beurre blanc sauce and cracked pepper.
It was melt-in-your-mouth good.
Other fan favorites are the Tipsy wrap with shredded grilled chicken, beer braised onions, bacon, Havarti cheese, fresh spring mix, and Tipsy sauce, all wrapped in a warm flour tortilla; the Tipsy burger with grass-fed beef in a double smash patty, cheddar cheese, and signature burger aioli; the jalapeño cornbread served with honey butter; and finally the Brussel sprouts cooked and served with ricotta cheese, bacon, and pecans.
Tipsy certainly makes a case to be one of my top dining options in the northern suburbs. Do you have a must-visit restaurant in your suburb?
