Travelers Inn

Food & Drink / Saturday, July 23rd, 2016

When it comes to food, I have always been a purveyor of all things sugary. And no where has understood this love of mine quite like the Travelers Inn in Alexandria. Originally a request from my friend, Micka, whose husband’s family owns the place, it has been suggested countless times from nearly everyone whose visited. By the way, this is the same family that brought you Hazels NE, so they really know what they’re doing. Operating in the historic area of Alexandria, “Travs” has been around since 1925, the Sieve family are the 4th owners, beginning in 1967. Yep, thats 91 years of serving state-wide breakfast, lunch and dinner favorites. A place like this deserves an audience, so I brought a bunch of friends to gorge with me. I loved the chocolate chip pancakes because it was like eating a giant cookie, no joke. Crowd favorite? The cinnamon and caramel rolls. I still get goosebumps just thinking about them! Have you been here, any best-loved dishes?
