Roselawn Cemetery

Roselawn CemeteryWhen all is said and done, I want the #mnbucketlist to be all encompassing. All of everything. From the most well-known, to the least. From the amusing, sensational and delicious, to the historical, architectural and dark. That being said, I included and still continue to include cemeteries, graveyards and ruins. The bucket list has always been a journey, an education, to live with eyes open. To give the past honor, and the insignificant new life. That being said, next on my list is Roselawn Cemetery in Roseville / St Paul. It’s a subtle, beautiful place, tucked behind a white #barn. This particular stop was a favorite of mine because it’s where comedian Mitch Hedberg is buried. If you are a stand up comedy fan, like myself, you know what heartbreaking loss his death was. If you don’t know who he is, look him up, you won’t regret it. Roselawn also has a slew of other prominent citizens; not quite the roster as Lakeview but still really well known, like Major League baseball player Mickey Rocco from the Cleveland Indians in the 1940’s and other hockey coaches, actors, photojournalists, etc. I’ve always found burial grounds to be a thing of exquisiteness, no matter how morose that may seem.
