Last night I crossed of Mill City Nights and seeing Nikki Sixx from my bucket list! 93X Live Nation hosted the Vamps, Apocalyptica (um, wow) and Sixx Am (think, Heroin Diaries, Vegas style). If you take New Age Hair Metal, sprinkle in a little Heavy Rock, add some Steven Tyler Dance moves, throw in some […]
Getting back to the #mnbucketlist… Last night, I reminisced and decided to see a few of my high school favorites. American Head Charge, Combchrist, Filter and Coal Chamber at First Ave. Pretty sure all of my teen angst came rushing back to me after staring into the mosh pit. Such great stage presence and my […]
Even though I ended up in the ER this morning, I still mustered the strength to make it to first ave to see Big Head Todd and the Monsters… Although I did stay in the back nursing a ginger ale. Their sound is so blues-y and rich, they might be single handily making me feel […]
If you are the person who spent your adolescence scouring through record bins and traipsing the aisles of music stores and you long to return to those times, then you are in luck at Discland in Bloomington. It is the perfect place to get your nostalgia on, sort of reminds me of Cheapo or Amoeba […]
Tonights #mnbucketlist music inductee is All Them Witches with The Well and Hotel San Sebastian at First Ave and 7th Street Entry. I love All Them Witches, their vocals, presence, the amazing album art work… With a sound that’s blues and bayou meets 70s rock vocals with a strong guitar, its reminiscent of Black Snake […]
Last nights bucket lister was seeing the Fury Things and Bob Mould at First Avenue. Fury Things is local alternative band that’s made up of three men and their beards. Really though, they were great! …and now onto the headliner, #Bob Mould. An alternative music pioneer whose been on the scene for almost four decades. […]
Tonight was Christopher Titus at Pantages Theatre! His standup, the angry pursuit of happiness… Hilarious! Oh wow! Tears! So funny. He’s one of my absolute favorite comedians because it’s so much like night at the improv. It probably doesn’t help that he has a lot of the same family dynamic that I do so I […]
Spending this scorching hot day at the Taste of Minnesota festival in Waconia, Minnesota. This year, it’s at the Carver County Fair Grounds, complete with a petting zoo, the iconic titanic slide, multiple music stages and state fair food staples. It’s going on through tomorrow, so stop by. smile emoticon July 4th 2014 weekend.
Fan of a good casino? Love great food? Like Tom Petty cover bands? Well then, get over to the Mystic Lake Casino for Rock and Rockets July 4th! Watch the fireworks, gorge on food truck street food and patriotic cupcakes from A Cupcake Social! smile emoticon Happy Independence Day!
… Necronomicon, Septic Flesh (their live show is like a very scary Vlad The Impailer version of Battlestar Gallactica), Fleshgod Apocalypse (their live show is a mix of Phantom Of The Opera, Bram Stroker’s Dracula and Repo The Genetic Opera) Black Crown Initiate! Gotta love metal music!
A concert at the Triple Rock Social Club on the bucket list this time! Tonight is a mix of symphonic death metal, black metal, doom metal and gothic metal… Can you guess the bands?
Def Leppard! Crossing off another historic live show from the bucket list! Up next, KISS! KISS! The most spectacular show I’ve seen live (better than Zombie and Megadeth )! So jealous of Paul Stanley’s hair! #srsly
Behemoth, Inquisition, Goat Whore, 1349 and Black Crown Initiate! Awesome!
Spending the night with the Minnesota Orchestra seeing Eric Whitacre’s Gather At The River. Absolutely beautiful music from the chorale and Orchestra. P.S. Equus was incredible! A must see, talent at its finest
