Visiting the Northwest Angle with my aunt Fay Sobottka and my mom (Denise Jorgensen) was an adventure.

This remote area in northern Minnesota is a result of a boundary dispute between the U.S. and Canada, making it the northernmost point of the contiguous United States.

Accessible only through Canada, it boasts unique geography, fantastic fishing opportunities, and a rustic charm.

img_3683Our journey took us to Angle Inlet, Minnesota, a quaint settlement surrounded by Lake of the Woods.

img_3680Here, we discovered a landscape of forests, lakes, and rugged terrain, perfect for outdoor activities like fishing, hunting, and camping.

Despite its remoteness, the area is dotted with small communities and resorts catering to tourists seeking solitude and nature’s embrace.

Jerry’s Bar and Restaurant welcomed us with its cozy atmosphere and a menu featuring fresh seafood sourced from Lake of the Woods.

A local favorite, Jerry’s is renowned for its friendly service and delicious dishes, making it a must-visit spot for travelers exploring the Northwest Angle.

As we explored further, we came across the Northwest Angle Inlet Marker, a small monument marking the northernmost point of the contiguous United States.

This symbolic landmark represents the area’s unique geography and serves as a popular photo spot for tourists, capturing the essence of the boundary between the United States and Canada in this remote yet captivating corner of the world.
