Minnesota State Fair 2018

Events, Food & Drink / Sunday, August 26th, 2018

Minnesota. State. Fair.
In all it’s deep-fried, hyped, once-a-year but every year no-matter-what glory!
The “Great Minnesota Get-Together” is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the region,
attracting nearly two million people annually.
What began in 1854 as a territorial fair to highlight agriculture and encourage farming
has become the perfect, closing-out-the-summer tradition.
This year, I hung out at Café Caribe and oooo’d and ahhhhh’s over their new Ahi Tuna Poke Bowl
while sipping on Lift Bridge’s key lime pie beer.
Had garlic fries and Lift Bridge’s mini-donut beer at Ball Park Cafe.
Tried the sweet Greek cheese puffs from Dino’s Gyros.
Got doe-eyed over the Swedish meatball smörgås and French toast bites from the Blue Barn.
I had to check out the Crop Art, blue ribbon baking, and butter sculptures while savoring cider popsicles.
I even found my way to Midway Men’s Club for the cheapest burgers at the Fair!
Have you had a chance to go yet?
