Sweet Martha’s Cookies

As soon as Brad (pictured, just moments before his glucose and mood elevated) said Lift Bridge (and me!) were headed to the Minnesota State Fair, there was one thing on my mind, chocolate chip cookies. If I know anything, its that people will wait all year just to get their hands on a fresh-out-of-the-oven, filled to the brim and more, so warm they just melt, bucket of Sweet Martha’s Cookies. Starting in 1979, Martha Rossini Olson (a.k.a. Sweet Martha), a former elementary art teacher, and her business partners started what has now become the top grossing food vendor at the fair. No surprise, just take a look at those lines! They are so popular, in fact, that they have had to open more locations to keep up with demand. In case you’re wondering, they put out over a million cookies a day. As a side note: Sandwich two cookies together, and pair them with Mini Donut Beer… Life. Changing.
