The next stop on our ‘Drink Your Way Through The Fair‘ adventure with Lift Bridge is by far one of the most well-known. O’Gara’s at the Fair has been a mainstay since it moved from the Food Building to its standalone location in 2010. It’s a staple and a local favorite with very good reason. Live authentic Irish music every afternoon, a new PaddyO (pun completely intended, also where you can see Joe, Chris and Brad standing), a big neon sign that beacons passerbys; O’Gara’s has become the go-to place for ‘pub grub’ and ambience at the fair. Owned by Dan and Kris O’Gara, who also own the O’Garas Bar and Grill and have a location at the MSP Airport. It is located just inside the main entrance on the southwestern corner of Dan Patch and Cosgrove, it sits in the former home of the old St. Bernard’s Dining Hall, a Catholic parish on St. Paul’s North End. If you make your way over, grab some sweet potato tots and deep fried grilled cheese bites – which just so happen to pair well with Lift Bridge’s Farm Girl Saison (on tap there!).
