Inspiring Beauty: 50 Years of Ebony Fashion Fair

The #EbonyFashionFair began in 1958 and lasted through some of the most #turbulent times in #American #history. @EbonyMagazine was a beacon and Ebony #Fashion Fair was a platform for #inspiration and transformation for communities and observers alike. Over last 50 years it has raised more than $50 million for #charity and revolutionized the #fashionindustry. Last night, I was lucky enough to be at the opening #gala for the #InspiringBeauty: 50 Years of Ebony Fashion Fair #exhibit and cross it off the #mnbucketlist. It was at the @minnesotahistoricalsociety in #StPaul and it was produced by the incredibly wonderful @rtiammoody and emceed by the very talented and oh so #funny, #RobyneRobinson. There was so much to see and partake in, a #slideshow was the only way I could do it justice! Featuring #designers such as Enna Le' Uqar and @SamanthaReiOfficial with fabric by Shalom Fashions. #Cocktail demos by #DuNord Craft Spirits and #shopping in #boutiques like Autumn’s Vintage, Ruby3 (who has the most superb #hats, in video), @TheBowTieShoppe, @MarkedLeather, and @DapperDanMichael (also in video). There was also #music by Wenso Ashby and Reynaldo Moreno. I urge you to see this stunning showcase. Come see the vision and the exquisite pieces of this #collection and feel the #power, vision and history behind it. The exhibit will be on view at the #MinnesotaHistoryCenter from May 23rd through August 16th.
