Have you heard of La La Homemade Ice Cream yet? It’s a classic ice cream parlor and soda fountain shop in Uptown. Owner Jennifer Lisburg started the shop off Chicago Avenue and 48th Street in 1993. It was later moved to Fertile, MN and has now settled into the former Shoe Zoo space on Hennepin Avenue.
Tucked into a neighborhood, La La’s bold marble bar against the front window makes for the perfect backdrop for a December snowfall. I, for one, love ice cream in the winter and La La’s lets me indulge. The ice cream (and also sorbet) is elegant, indulgent and made on site. It comes in a in a variety of bold flavors like raspberry honey and Charlotte’s Web.Aside from ice cream, they also offer coffees, tea, baked goods and have a whole case full of frozen desserts. By the pint or quart, ice cream sandwiches, and ice cream cake that can be bought whole or in slices. I opted for a slice of the Yule Log Ice Cream Cake with buttercream frosting, chocolate cake and peppermint ice cream drizzled with chocolate and a hot apple cider.
