This past week, I attended a private backstage performance of Symphony and Suds, Minnesota Orchestra’s brass quintet concert. Held in Surly’s Brewing Production Area, the absolutely incredible acoustics paired amazingly well with the sounds of ragtime festivities and those reminiscent of New Orleans’ French Quarter. The experience came second to none. The event, co-hosted by Surly, Minnesota Orchestra and Minnstameets, gave a handful of people the chance to see the behind-the-scenes brewery mechanics, witness awe-inspiring talent and meet the musicians before they performed in the taproom for the public crowd. Such a rare opportunity – if visiting Surly Brewing and seeing the Minnesota Orchestra are on your #mnbucketlist, here is a way to do both together! The Symphony and Suds ‘Tour’ will also be held at Insight and Fair State.
