This past weekend was the 4th Annual Holiday Pottery Party called, Winter Wares at the Circa Gallery in Minneapolis. While held in a gallery, the festivities weren’t what you would have expected… This was party where you could meet the Artists and actually put their art to use. Often times, art can feel inaccessible and stuffy – at least that’s been my experience. But this approach, it didn’t feel so. Arranged in a beautiful dining room setting, you got to touch and feel each piece and were able to see the pot or cup or plates functionality. The party goers who purchased a mug and/or a plate were encouraged to participate and use them! This first-hand approach is definitely a new favorite – thanks Nick! With food and drink by Monument Catering and live music by Forrest and the Rangers, the whole thing was a hit. I’m already setting my sights on next year! Hey, even though the party is over, I encourage you to check out the Artists of the night: Robert Briscoe, Nicholas DeVries, Linda Christianson, Joe Kraft, Matthew Krousey, Bianka Groves, Adam Gruetzmacher, Nick Moen, Elizabeth Pechacek, David Swenson, and Dustin Yager.
