Cold Front

Located in the Hamline neighborhood of St Paul, Cold Front Ice Cream is next on the #mnbucketlist. In the space formerly known as Lynden’s Soda Fountain, ahem which was formerly known as Kopplin’s Coffee, Cold Front is one of my favorite ‘last course’ stops. Specializing in coffee, ice cream and soda, they opened their doors last year, Valentine’s Day. Getting their coffee from Dogwood, patisseries from P.J. Murphy’s Bakery, use Chocolate Shoppe Ice Cream, and make these really awesome all-natural signature sodas all their own. Don’t let me sell them short either, they have some distinct flavors on their roster like; Pomegranate Ginger, Strawberry Balsamic, Lemongrass Sass, Blood Orange and Beetroot, and Chai Vanilla. This place is so much fun, and with the new arctic blue sign out front, neighboring The Nook and the retro-fitted subway-meets-50’s splash diner style, it’s a far cry from wrong. Best part? The staff is unbelievably genuine and helpful, if you can’t decide on a flavor, don’t fret – they have ice cream flights. No joke!
