If you are a long-time follower, you know that the Union Depot’s annual bake sale is my favorite event of the year and that is not an exaggeration.
It is one that I make sure to highlight, no matter what.
Located in St Paul’s historic railroad station, the bake sale has been the go-to spot to window shop all of the top Twin Cities bakeries without having to take the time to stop at countless places to find the perfect saccharine favorite.
A day filled with cookies, cooking demonstrations, candies, coffee, cupcakes, and a host of other items that fit the alliteration from the likes of Nikkolette’s Macarons, North Mallow & Co., T-Rex Cookie, Groveland Confections, Isadore Nut Company, Tom Fass, Sarah Jane’s Bakery, Minnecookies, Mademoiselle Miel, Cookie Cart, and Sweet Sumthings.
I will cancel any plans just to make sure I get there early to grab a four-pack of Buttered Tin cupcakes, a red velvet bundt cake from Nothing Bundt Cakes, a full set of ugly sweater cookies from Groundswell, and a whole host of other must-haves.
Given that this event has already passed, I highly recommend adding it to your 2020 Holiday Bucket List.
I stress this planning ahead because you may have to fast a few days leading up the event!
