Wagon Wheel Café has been around since the 40s and has become the go-to place for breakfast in Mankato.

Just off Front Street, inside the walk-in double doors, you’ll find a quintessential small-town diner with an open seating concept complete with bucket booths, Formica counters, vinyl bar stools, a bustling kitchen you can see clear into, and a friendly waitress – coffee pot in hand.

They carry a simple menu of breakfast items served all day, along with burgers, sandwiches, and salads, though they have become known for their country fried steak and cinnamon roll French toast.
When it comes to breakfast, historical fixtures and iconic diners top the list, making this landmark a welcomed go-to.
Do you have a favorite local diner? Where and why?
