MayDay Parade and Festival 2019

Concerts & Venues, Entertainment, Events, Food & Drink, Parks & Geology / Sunday, May 5th, 2019

Today marks the 45th MayDay Parade and Festival and it certainly didn’t disappoint! The free event took place in the Powderhorn neighborhood in South Minneapolis and ran noon to dusk.

In the Heart of the Beast Theater (HOTB)’s annual MayDay Parade, Ceremony, and Festival has been a staple in the Twin Cities area and is a time to celebrate spring, community, and hopes for the future. It has been produced by HOTB since 1975, taking place on the first Sunday of May.

The parade starts at the corner of 25th Street East and Bloomington Avenue South, travel south on Bloomington to 34th Street East, and ends at Powderhorn Park with a Tree of Life ceremony.

This year may be the last as HOBT can no longer afford to produce the parade. You can help save the MayDay Parade and Festival by donating here: hobt.org
