… Necronomicon, Septic Flesh (their live show is like a very scary Vlad The Impailer version of Battlestar Gallactica), Fleshgod Apocalypse (their live show is a mix of Phantom Of The Opera, Bram Stroker’s Dracula and Repo The Genetic Opera) Black Crown Initiate! Gotta love metal music!
A concert at the Triple Rock Social Club on the bucket list this time! Tonight is a mix of symphonic death metal, black metal, doom metal and gothic metal… Can you guess the bands?
Today is the MN Food Truck Fair in Uptown, where all of the cleverly named food trucks converge and stop traffic. I wish I could say that it’s worth the trip or the 50 minute wait in lines, but it’s not. Unfortunately it was ill planned. Hopefully they can work out the kinks for next […]
Before I start, I should warn that I’m a tad bit obsessed with this next place, so don’t mind me, I may gush about it a little. Pairings Wine and Food Market, as kitschy as it sounds, is the cutest, best designed eatery with an unbeatable atmosphere in Minnetonka. Its right off Shady Oak, near […]
Let me start by saying, anywhere that offers free chocolate chip cookies (good ones, too!) has my attention and my vote. Just sayin. Well, the Wayzata Olive Oil and Vinegar store does! Or at least, they did when I stopped by. They are right off Lake street in Wayzata, next to Blue Pointe, opposite from […]
James J Hill was the railroad tycoon of the Great Northern Railway and a huge part of Minnesota’s history. He built an empire, became a major contributor to higher education (ie. seminaries, colleges and universities) and he was even mentioned in the Great Gatsby by F Scott Fitzgerald! So, of course his home would be […]
Cupcake lover, check. Macaroon fan, check. Tried all the sweet shops within driving distance, workin on it. Which brings me to Cupcake. They have four locations, off University Ave in Minneapolis, MOA, Snelling in StPaul and Cliff Road in Eagan. Some locations have a café menu but the Mall of America is the smallest with […]
If you love classic comfort food, dive breakfast joints, have been to Wayzata off Lake Street and you haven’t been to Maggies Restaurant, what have you been doing?! You are seriously missing out! Maggies is a local staple and a hotspot for early morning crowds. That being said, expect a short wait. Imagine this; you […]
If you are looking for an excuse to get out of the house, I have the perfect thing. If you are a collectorcar and auto enthusiast, that is. Come down to the Minnesota State Fair grounds for the Back To The 50s! I’m a huge fan of the powder blue Hudson Hornet.
Looking for a quick walk in the park after work or a stroll around a small lake? Well, I have the perfect, urban place. Purgatory Creek Park is right off Technology Drive in Eden Prairie is in a central location, easy to get to and has so much to offer! It has a military monument, […]
Next on the #mnbucketlist is the best cookbook library ever, off Grand Ave in St Paul near Summit; Cooks of Crocus Hill. Ok, so there is more to it than a glorious vegan / vegetarian cookbook section, they have gourmet cookware and tools, too! They offer cooking classes and a super helpful staff. If you’ve […]
Def Leppard! Crossing off another historic live show from the bucket list! Up next, KISS! KISS! The most spectacular show I’ve seen live (better than Zombie and Megadeth )! So jealous of Paul Stanley’s hair! #srsly
If you love sweet, savory and fast, then Cafe Latte is a perfect place for your bucketlist! Its a bakery, cafeteria, pizza and wine bar with countless vegan and vegetarian options. Oh! And they have amazing cheesecake, too! If you are already in the area, try bread and chocolate, as they are part of the […]
Right off of Grand Ave in St Paul, you will find the Golden Fig. A fun little gourmet food boutique. They have some of the best concoctions I have ever had like lemon lavender sugar or vanilla rose sugar and basil balsamic. They also have really good rustic bread (personal favorite). If you are in […]
A #mnbucketlist find inside another mnbucketlist-er! The Twin Cities Grill on the lower level at the Mall of America is full of comfort food and locally inspired decor. It’s a little dark and crowded but definitely a Minnesota favorite.
Now that the wedding is over, its back to the bucketlist The Mill City Museum in Minneapolis is next. The Ruins of the Flour mill are part of the #Minnesota historical society (I’m sure you’ve seen the gold metal flour logo from the Mississippi riverfront). You will almost always see a slew of photographers, as […]
One of my top five favorites on the #mnbucketlist is Penzeys. Penzeys Spices is a herb and seasoning shop off Grand Ave in St Paul near Summit. Their helpful, friendly staff can get you just about anything youve ever heard of and you can get all sorts of hard to find things like lavender and […]
Next up; Cossettas Italian Market. Cossetta in St Paul is a mini city; it includes a pizzeria, an italian market, pastries and bread. With it being near the Xcel Energy Center and the Science Museum of Minnesota, parking is a little tough. It recently went through huge renovations and totally worth checking out.
